A pan and zoom animation of the informally named "Dodo" (on left) and
"Goldilocks" (on right) trenches as seen by the Surface Stereo Imager
(SSI) aboard NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander. This animation was based on
conditions on the Martian surface on Sol 17 (June 11, 2008), the 17th
Martian day of the mission. "Baby Bear" is the name of the sample taken
from "Goldilocks" and delivered to the Thermal and Evolved-Gas Analyzer
(TEGA) instrument.
The Phoenix Mission is led by the University of Arizona, Tucson, on behalf
of NASA. Project management of the mission is by NASA’s Jet Propulsion
Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif. Spacecraft development is by Lockheed Martin
Space Systems, Denver.
