On September 22, 2000, Verizon New England Inc., et al., filed an application for authorization to provide in-region, interLATA service originating in Massachusetts, pursuant to section 271 of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C.  271. On December 18, 2000, Verizon filed an ex parte letter in this docket withdrawing its application. As such, we hereby terminate this docket. Verizon further expressed its intention to "shortly file to initiate a new application" and to incorporate the existing record in this docket into the new application. We will consider such a request once Verizon files a new application. 2.
