Neighborhood Partners Program Awardees Announced
12/14/2006Mayor Littlefield and the Chattanooga City Council appropriated funding to the Department of Neighborhood Services and Community Development for the Neighborhood Partners Program (NPP). The purpose of the Neighborhood Partners Program is to provide assistance to neighborhood projects that substantially, positively, and measurably impact the community. This year 27 neighborhood associations and community organizations applied for NPP funding. 23 were approved for approximately $71,000 for the following three types of projects: Neighborhood Development - Projects that strengthen and develop strong, independent, and capable neighborhoods and further encourage educational achievement in our communities. Neighborhood Safety - Projects that focus on the health, welfare, and safety of Chattanooga’s neighborhoods.
