Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 99-2736 CORRECTION PLEADING CYCLE ESTABLISHED FOR COMMENTS ON CIX AND ITAA REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF THE SUNSET DATE OF SAFEGUARDS GOVERNING BELL OPERATING COMPANY PROVISION OF IN-REGION, INTERLATA INFORMATION SERVICES CC Docket No. 96-149 Released: December 9, 1999 On November 29, 1999, the Commercial Internet eXchange Association (CIX) and the Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) filed a request for extension of the sunset date of the structural, non-discrimination, and other safeguards governing Bell Operating Company provision of in-region, interLATA information services. CIX and ITAA request that, pursuant to section 272(f) of the Communications Act, 47 U.S.C.  272(f), the Commission extend for two years, until February 8, 2002, the sunset date of the safeguards contained in sections 272(b), (c), (d), and (g), of the Act, 47 U.S.C.  272 (b), (c), (d), and (g). Interested parties may file comments regarding the CIX and ITAA request no later than December 17, 1999, with the Secretary, FCC at 445 12th Street, SW, TW- A325, Washington, DC 20554. Oppositions or responses to these comments may be filed with the Secretary, FCC no later than December 28, 1999. All pleadings are to reference CC Docket No. 96-149. Interested parties should file an original and seven copies of all pleadings. An additional copy of all pleadings must also be sent to Janice M.
