Association
of Students & Postdocs
at Brookhaven National Laboratory
Brookhaven's Association of Students And Postdocs
(ASAP) is an organization of students and postdocs working at Brookhaven.
Our aim is to improve the quality of life of our members, and to act as a magnet
to bring together students and postdocs in a
social setting.
Our lounge is where most events that we sponsor will occur. The new
location (Bldg 462) is on the corner of Bell Avenue and Center Street. A card reader
will allow students and postdocs entry. To obtain access to the ASAP lounge,
students and post-docs must complete the
Lounge
Access Form and have their BNL ID cards encoded. Print out the form and read, acknowledge
by signing the form, then mail to: Recreation Office, Bldg 400
We have a large screen
TV with a DVD/VCR and a DirecTV connection. The lounge area also has some
nice couches and chairs for relaxing while watching TV or socializing. We
also have a game room with a pool table and foosball table. While playing
pool you can turn on the CD/tape/radio system for some easy listening. The
wireless network is now available in the 'computer room'.
Stony Brook University offers a shuttle bus from the University to
BNL for Students and Post-docs. You are required to show your
BNL ID badge in order to board the bus. To view a schedule,
