SUBJECT:  Federal Travel Regulations - Maximum Per Diem Rates for the Continental United States; Privately Owned Vehicle Mileage Reimbursement; Per Diem Expenses (Meals and Incidental Expense Allowance) 2005; Transportation Expenses, Government-Furnished Automobiles (GFA); Maximum Per Diem Rates for California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin; General Services Administration

1.  Purpose. To transmit revised maximum per diem and government-furnished automobile rates for the Continental United States (CONUS).

4.  Substance. The General Services Administration (GSA) reviews and revises Federal per diem rates for locations in the United States, and mileage rates for both privately owned and government furnished vehicles. The rates are used to establish maximum reimbursement rates for Federal travelers. GSA publishes the CONUS per diem rates on-line at:

http://www.gsa.gov/perdiem

Certain State and local units of government, non-profit agencies and other recipients of Federal financial assistance use the Federal reimbursement rates as the basis for setting their own travel policies.
