FCC ENFORCEMENT BUREAU ANNOUNCES REORGANIZATION STRUCTURE

Washington, DC – Today, the Federal Communications Commission’s Enforcement Bureau (EB) announced changes that will take effect within the Bureau as a result of the overall reorganization of the Commission, which will go into effect March 25, 2002.

The primary new functions that will be assigned to the Enforcement Bureau are:

  • The Market Disputes Resolution Division (MDRD) will handle all pole attachment and Part 68 complaints.

  • The Investigations and Hearings Division (IHD) will handle common carrier auditing functions and related merger compliance.

  • The Telecommunications Consumers Division (TCD) will address all formal closed captioning and pending cable programming tier complaints.

  • The Technical and Public Safety Division (TPSD), in conjunction with the EB field offices, will now be responsible for all cable technical enforcement.

The Bureau restructuring has resulted in new management changes. Kathleen Costello has been named as Assistant Bureau Chief; Anthony Dale will serve as Assistant Division Chief of the IHD; and Hugh Boyle will serve as the IHD Chief Auditor.
