ASSESSMENT AND COLLECTION OF REGULATORY FEES
FOR FISCAL YEAR 2000
PUBLIC NOTICES

Washington DC -- The FCC has revised its Schedule of Regulatory Fees in order to collect the amount of $185,754,000 which, pursuant to section 9(b)(2) of the Communications Act, as amended, Congress has required the Commission to collect for Fiscal Year 2000. This action was adopted by the Commission on June 30, 2000, See Report and Order in the Matter of Assessment and Collection of Regulatory Fees for Fiscal Year 2000. MD Docket No. 00-58. The public notices identifying the fee amounts of each fee category will be available at the following FCC website on or after August 2, 2000: www.fcc.gov/fees/2000regfees.html. The due dates for payment of regulatory fees are September 11, 2000 through September 20, 2000.

For timely submission, parties paying these fees electronically may want to submit payment to Mellon Bank by September 19, 2000 to ensure processing of the payment by the deadline of September 20, 2000. Payments received after September 20, 2000 will be subject to a 25% late payment fee.

Applicants for new, renewal and reinstatement licenses in the private wireless private mobile radio (PMRS) and the microwave radio services, which pay annual fees of $13.00 in advance for each year of their license term in combination with the appropriate application fee, may begin paying the fee on September 11, 2000. Private wireless licensees in the aviation, marine, general mobile (GMRS), and other land mobile radio services paying $7.00 in advance for each year of their license term in combination with the appropriate application fee, and applicants for amateur vanity call signs paying $1.40 in advance for each year of their license term in combination with the appropriate application fee may also begin paying their fees on September 11, 2000. Since the time for collecting fees is extremely limited, we are unable to offer installment payments for Fiscal Year 2000.

For more information about this proceeding, please call (888) 225-5322 (TTY 1-888-835-5322).
