CDC Grants for Public Health Research Dissertation (R36)

In FY 2007, CDC awarded 22 public health dissertation research grants for $731,600.  The purpose of the public health dissertation research program (R36) is to provide support for research undertaken as part of an academic program to qualify for a doctorate.  Grant support is designed to encourage doctoral candidates from a variety of academic disciplines and programs to conduct research in areas of interest to CDC.  It is hoped that this program will ultimately facilitate the entry of promising investigators into the field of public health research.
