AFSC Internships, 2006 Intern Experiences - Jassalyn Bradbury

Jassalyn Bradbury  

Jassalyn Bradbury is a recent graduate from Southern Oregon University with a B.S. degree in Environmental Science.

During her college career she traveled extensively through Central America participating in tropical rainforest studies including work with hummingbirds, forest structure and invertebrates.

Jassalyn is interested in conservation biology as well as field and research experience in marine biology and fisheries.

During Jassalyn's internship with the AFSC Kodiak Laboratory's Shellfish Assessment Program she assisted with the feeding and growth recording of golden king crab. In addition to cleaning tanks, Jassalyn helped with setting up systems for experimental culture of crabs.

Her work entailed assisting with the embryology, development, and hatch timing study which involves sampling eggs, digital photomicroscopy, image analysis, and entering data in Excel.
