Quality Service

City of Albuquerque's Solid Waste provides a wide range of cost efficient services for its customers in the Albuquerque metropolitan area. In fact, a 2005 survey comparing 17 Southwestern cities' services and rates revealed that Albuquerque residents enjoy lower fees for more waste management services than many other cities in the Southwest.

In addition to collecting and disposing of trash from households and businesses, the Department provides recycling, graffiti removal, weed and litter control, and community outreach services related to department functions.

Albuquerque's citizens can be proud of their automated trash collection system and nationally acclaimed, state-of-the-art landfill. Several additional projects are underway to further upgrade and expand the department's programs and services. As Albuquerque grows, the Solid Waste Management Department will continue to improve and expand its services to meet the community's needs for a clean environment and improved quality of life.
