What Controls the Migration of Chlorinated Solvents in Fractured Rock?USGS and U.S. Navy scientists are trying to find out. The Toxic Substances Hydrology Program in partnership with the U.S. Navy have initiated a new project to investigate the geochemical and microbiological processes that affect the migration and natural attenuation of chlorinated solvents in fractured rock. The main focus of this new project's investigations will be at the Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) in West Trenton, NJ. The results from this project will help resource and environmental managers to make informed decisions about the cleanup of contaminated fractured-bedrock aquifers. Related Headlines
