NOTICEABILITY OF ALCOHOL HEALTH WARNING STATEMENT - ATF
DECIDES NOT TO PURSUE RULEMAKING
ATF has decided not to pursue rulemaking
to amend the regulations regarding the noticeability of the health warning statement
required by the Alcoholic Beverage Labeling Act of 1988 (ABLA). After careful
consideration of the petition filed on behalf of the Center for Science in the
Public Interest (CSPI) and others, the comments received in response to our advance
notice of proposed rulemaking, and a review of the legislative history of the
ABLA, ATF has determined that an amendment to the health warning statement regulations
is unwarranted and unnecessary.
