February 26, 1997
Dear Manufacturer of Tobacco
Products or Cigarette Papers and Tubes, or Export Warehouse Proprietor:
On March 17, 1997, the technical
services office covering your area will be changed from Atlanta, Georgia to
Cincinnati, Ohio. The change in this technical services office is a part of
an overall plan to combine our five technical services offices into one office
in Cincinnati.
The consolidation of technical
services offices will reduce ATF costs by improving the efficiency of our operations.
With the streamlined operation, ATF will continue to maintain a high level of
service to businesses and individuals.
This change in technical
services offices does not affect the other ATF field Enforcement offices for
your area. The duties of these offices include on-site inspection and investigation
by inspectors and special agents of operations involving spirits, wine, beer,
tobacco, firearms, explosives and arson.
We have planned these changes
so there will be a minimum of inconvenience to your operations. Please help
us by referring to the information on the back of this letter which identifies
the new ATF technical services office, and the Regulatory and Criminal Enforcement
offices for your area. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact
the specialist in technical services or area supervisor covering your area.
Sincerely yours,
/s/
