Women's History Month Lecture

On March 28, 2005, Dr. Bernadine Healy will give a lecture entitled "The Human Genome and the Women's Health Initiative," at the National Library of Medicine, on the campus of the National Institutes of Health. The lecture will be held in the Lister Hill Auditorium, Building 38A, from 2:00pm - 3:15pm. In 1991, Dr. Healy became the first woman to be appointed director of the National Institutes of Health. She is a former President and CEO of the American Red Cross, and currently serves on the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology Policy. She is also a medical and health columnist for U.S. News & World Report. Dr. Healy is featured in the National Library of Medicine Exhibition, Changing the Face of Medicine: Celebrating America's Women Physicians, located in the Rotunda of the NLM and online at: www.nlm.nih.gov/changingthefaceofmedicine .
