Technical Assistance

The OAPP is pleased to work with John Snow, Inc. (JSI) to provide meaningful and quality Technical Assistance workshops, Net Conference trainings, and training through self-directed modules to AFL grantees this year.

Technical Assistance Workshops

The OAPP will offer a number of face to face Technical Assistance workshops to grantees beginning in January 2008. Each workshop will be geared towards a specific group of grantees. Each grantee will be encouraged to send two to three relevant staff to the appropriate training. The OAPP will pay for costs associated with airfare (or rental car with prior approval), registration, presenter honorarium, and meeting space. Grantees are expected to cover costs associated with ground transportation and per diem.

Net Conference Trainings

The OAPP will sponsor several net conference trainings for AFL grantees over the next year. These trainings are intended to be convenient to grantees so that participation can occur with no travel required.

Self-directed Modules

With the assistance of JSI, the OAPP intends to create several self-directed modules to provide important training for AFL grantees. The OAPP recognizes that staff turnover is a reality in many projects. It is important that all relevant staff are provided the same opportunity to receive training in important topics and Title XX policy.
