Male Family Planning Research Cooperative Agreement Technical Assistance Conference Call

OPA Announces the Availability of Approximately $1.5 million for the Male Family Planning Research Cooperative Agreements

The Office of Population Affairs announces the availability of funds to test a comprehensive service delivery model and evaluate its effectiveness and replicability in Title X clinics. OPA is requesting applications from public and private non-profit organizations that are interested in participating in a multi-site research study testing a comprehensive family planning delivery model for males. OPA expects to make new awards to five project sites with a first year award of $225,000 and one coordinating center with a first year award of $375,000. OPA Announces the Availability of Approximately $1.5 million for Natural Family Planning Research Grants

The Office of Population Affairs announces the availability of funds to strengthen the evidence base for NFP practices through the study of social and cultural factors that influence NFP use and document its effectiveness in preventing unintended pregnancies. OPA is requesting applications from public and private non-profit organizations, including community-based organizations. OPA expects to make new awards to five to ten projects sites with annual awards from $150,000 to $200,000. FY2008 funds will be awarded to funded projects for a period of up to three years. OPA Announces the Availability of Approximately $4.7 million for Family Planning Regional General Training and Technical Assistance Projects

The Office of Population Affairs announces the availability of funds to establish and operate one general training and technical assistance project in each of the ten Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Public Health Service (PHS) Regions. The purpose of the family planning general training program is to ensure that all levels of personnel working in Title X family planning service projects have the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the effective delivery of high quality family planning services. HHS Announces the Availability of $15.4 million for Expanded Title X Family Planning Services

The Office of Population Affairs announces the availability of supplemental expansion funds for the purpose of expanding clinical family planning services through existing family planning services grant projects funded under Title X of the Public Health service Act. This is anticipated to result in additional services to populations in need of services, particularly low-income individuals who are not currently accessing services.


OPA Posts a New Funding Opportunity Announcement for 4 to 5 Cooperative Agreements in the Embryo Donation and/or Adoption Public Awareness Campaign

The purpose of the 3 year agreement is to continue to educate Americans about the existence of frozen embryos (resulting from in-vitro fertilization) which may be available for adoption. New Funding Opportunity for Research Project Grant Applications

The Office of Populations Affairs (OPA) has posted a new funding opportunity for Research Project Grant (R01) applications from organizations that propose to conduct relevant studies which will promote improvements in the delivery of services in the Title X family planning program administered by the Office of Family Planning in OPA. OPHS Discontinues Use of the Federal Register to Announce Funding Opportunities

Effective immediately, the Office of Public Health and Science (OPHS), Office of Grants Management will no longer publish information about new competitive grant funding opportunities in the Federal Register. To obtain information about current grant funding opportunities, grantee organizations may visit GrantSolutions.gov where you will be able to view the opportunities and submit applications electronically. If you are a new applicant organization, that has never had a grantee relationship with a grant program serviced by the OPHS Grants Management Office, then please visit Grants.gov where you will be able to view the opportunities and submit applications electronically.

The Title X Family Planning database provides the ability to search for Family Planning providers in your area.

AIDS.gov is designed to help you, the user, locate the information you need regarding HIV/AIDS quickly and easily.

Parents can have a strong, positive influence on the decisions their teens make about risk behaviors. 4Parents.gov and a “Parents, Speak Up!” guide provide parents with the information and tools they need to start those sensitive conversations that will help their teens make the healthiest choices. “Teen Chat” is a similar guide for teens.
