Status: Introduced - naturalized; ecologically invasive
Plant: perennial tree 50'-98' tall with an open crown; gray to brown, deeply furrowed bark with interlacing ridges, branches without wings
Flower: dark brown, oval buds; inflorescence a tight, erect cluster with 6-15 flowers; blooms late winter into early spring
Fruit:yellowish to cream samara with broad wings and a deeply notched tip; seeds thick but not inflated
Leaf:narrowly elliptic to lance-like, bases usually equal, edges singly toothed
Habitat: waste places, roadsides, fencerows
