We are working to strengthen the ability of Oregon's health system to serve Oregonians by improving access to primary care, reducing disparities in health care services, improving quality, patient safety, and the level of patient centered care. We are committed to the health of all Oregonians and especially those who are most vulnerable because of poverty, lack of access to health care, geographic isolation, disability, age, race, and ethnicity.
Access to Care
Access to timely health services is not a guarantee for every Oregonian.
Lack of health insurance, health care provider shortages, cultural and linguistic barriers as well as a myriad of other impediments prevent people from getting the care they need when they need it. Lack of access leads to negative health outcomes and increases the cost of health care for every Oregonian. Consequently, HSP undertakes a variety of efforts to improve access to health care:
