Abstract

The ORNL Technology Transfer Office and the Center for Entrepreneurial Growth (CEG) at Technology 2020 present the next installment in the "Brown Bag" lunch series. This session is devoted to the topic of entrepreneurialism and how to work with the Center for Entrepreneurial Growth.

In this session we will take a look at current trends towards a favorable environment for new technology companies. CEG will introduce its program of entrepreneurial support which is available to licensees and employees of ORNL. The discussion of trends includes overall community support of technology start ups and funding mechanisms such as SBIR's, angel investors and venture capital. The latter half of the session will focus on the CEG Client Development Model which helps guide small business owners through hurdles of moving an idea into the marketplace.

If you are considering starting a company, or if you are just curious, this is your opportunity to find out about one of the best entrepreneurial support programs in the country.
