NATIONAL WRITTEN EXAMINATION  “EXAMINATION FOR THE PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE IN PSYCHOLOGY”   (EPPP)

An applicant is eligible to sit for the national written examination once their application for licensure has been approved.  Supervised work experience does not have to be completed to take the national written examination.

When the applicant is notified that their application has been approved, a written request is sent to the Board’s office asking to take the EPPP.  The written request can be mailed, emailed or faxed.  The request is then transmitted to the Professional Examination Service (PES) in New York.  PES then provides application materials directly to the applicant; usually within two weeks time.

PES reports exam scores to the Board on a bimonthly basis.  For example:  exams taken 7-1 to 7-15 are reported around 7-22; exams taken 7-16 to 7-31 reported around 8-7)  PLAN ON SCHEDULING YOUR EXAM AT LEAST THE MONTH PRIOR TO A JURISPRUDENCE EXAM DEADLINE!!

Further information on the specifics of the exam can be found  HERE; or by visiting the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Board (ASPPB) website at www. asppb.org
