Park
Joins Evans' Commerce Team
U.S. Commerce Secretary Don Evans today announced that Scott Park
will be joining his staff as Director of Speech Writing.
"Scott is going to play a key role in communicating our agenda
of spurring economic growth, increasing job creation, and expanding
free trade," said Secretary Evans.
Park joins the Commerce Department from the Office of House Majority
Leader Tom DeLay (R.-Texas). Park served the Majority Leader over
the last three years as speech writer. Earlier, Park covered Congress
and the previous administration while serving as a reporter for the
Capitol Hill weekly Human Events. Prior to that, Park covered banking
regulation, the consumer financial services marketplace, and legislative
developments touching financial services companies for American Banker
Newsletters.
Park is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University (B.A., English
Literature, 1992) and a veteran of the United States Army's 101st
Airborne Division (Air Assault).
Park
officially joins the Commerce Department on March 17.
