President, DeMolet Consulting, Kettering, Ohio
WASHINGTON, D.C. Mr. Dennis DeMolet, president of DeMolet Consulting, Kettering, Ohio has been named the National Veteran Small Business Advocate of the Year by the Office of Advocacy of the SBA. He received the award for his outstanding advocacy efforts on behalf of veteran-owned small businesses.
"Since his two tours in Vietnam, Dennis DeMolet has not stopped being a bold and fearless advocate for veterans," said Thomas M. Sullivan, Chief Counsel for Advocacy. "He is actively increasing his fellow veterans understanding of what the Veterans Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development Act can do for them. Plus, he has gone out of his way to locate service-disabled veterans who can fulfill government contracts. He truly is an advocate for veterans and the opportunities they can find in small business ownership," he said.
The award is given to an individual who has advanced small business opportunities for veterans. Evaluation criteria include advisory activities to improve awareness among veterans of small business opportunities, advocacy of special consideration for veterans in policymaking, and demonstrated accomplishments in obtaining support for establishing veteran-owned small businesses.
The Office of Advocacy annual awards include Entrepreneurial Success, Financial Services Advocate, Home-Based Business Advocate, Minority Small Business Advocate, Research Advocate, SBA Young Entrepreneur, Small Business Exporter, Small Business Journalist, Veteran Small Business Advocate, and Women in Business Advocate.
National Advocate award winners will be honored during the National Entrepreneurship Conference & Expo, held September 15-20, 2003, in Washington, D.C.
