Organization:

There are twenty five MMHCC Principal Investigators whose research groups connect more than fifty institutions in the U.S. and abroad. Each of these twenty five groups consists of a Principal Investigator, co-Principal Investigators , and various collaborators. For contact information for these individuals, please click on Directory. For information about each Consortium project, please click on Project Abstracts.

Steering Committee
The MMHCC Steering Committee sets the scientific direction for the Consortium, develops and tracks cross-Consortium initiatives, collaborates with the NCI to convene meetings and other outreach activities and to develop the informatics infrastructure to support preclinical models science, and provides continuing advice to the NCI on the needs and priorities for mouse models and the necessary infrastructure, resources, and technologies to support their development and deployment to the research community.

Standing Committees
The three Standing Committees of the MMHCC develop guidelines for the use of mouse models to test new interventions for cancer, define validation parameters to assess mouse phenotypes as models of human disease, facilitate the exchange of ideas and resources throughout the MMHCC, guide the functioning of NCI’s Mouse Repository, and promote interactions between the MMHCC and the scientific community.

Working Group Committees
Eight Working Group Committees promote the development of models for disease-site specific cancer research applications. An additional Committee, Public-Private Partnerships, promotes interactions among industry, academia and government organizations.

NCI Scientific Staff
The scientific staff of NCI is integrally related to the Consortium members through specific scientific areas, funding opportunities and administrative processes.

NCICB Bioinformatics Group
The NCICB Bioinformatics Group is charged with providing bioinformatics support for the MMHCC. Bioinformatics support includes developing data repositories and access to MMHCC information, providing tools in support of MMHCC data analysis, and integrating MMHCC data with other NCICB projects.
