Q:  What kind of duty will I stand and how often will I stand duty?

A:  You will be placed in the MST "A" Computer Lab duty rotation. Duty rotation is 1 in 6.

Q:  What are Class Officers?

A:  There are Three class officers for each class.

Class Leader - He or she maintains lines of communications between the class and the school staff.
Class MAA - He or she maintains the cleanliness of the classrooms and the barracks.
Class Yeoman - He or she maintains lines of communication between the class the Training Center Administrations Department.

Q:  Is "A" school just like boot camp?

A:  No.  However you will have to march to and from class.  You will be standing a personnel inspection and room inspection weekly.

Q:  What are the living arrangements like at Training Center Yorktown?

A:  You will be staying in either Steuben Hall or Lincoln Hall.  They hold two people per room.  On each wing are TV and laundry rooms.

Q:  Will I have to extend my enlistment to attend school?

A:  Maybe.. You must obligate to serve 2 years on active duty from the time you graduate MST"A" school.

Q:  Will I have to pay for meals while I attend "A" school?

A:  TCYorktown is listed as an essential dining facilty. This means that all students PCS or TAD will be given  Meal Cards and BAS or SEPRATS will be stopped while attending A school.

Q:  What is the process for choosing my new assignment?

A:  By the second week of the course you will be given a list of assignments to choose from.  These are the assignments that the detailer will make for your class.  You will complete an Assignment Data Form (Dream Sheet).  These dream sheets will be faxed to the detailer.  The detailer normally uses the SPEARS process to decide priority in assignments pickings.

Q:  What is available for off time recreation and activities?

A:  On base

• Auto Hobby Shop
• Movie Theater
• Library
• Enlisted Club
• Cyber Cafe
• Gym
• Fishing (base fishing permit required)

Off Base (within a 15 miles area)

• Several Malls with big name anchor stores
• Movie theaters
• Colonial Williamsburg
• Yorktown Battlefield
• Busch Gardens Williamsburg (March-Oct)
• Watercountry USA (May-Sept)

Q:  Will I submit a travel claim when I report to "A" School?

A:  No.  A travel claim will be completed upon completion of travel at the student's new permanent duty station.
