The amount of your monthly disability benefit is based on your lifetime average earnings covered by Social Security.

The Social Security Statement we send you each year will tell you how much you would get if you became disabled at the time the Statement is prepared. (If you haven't gotten your Statement, you can complete and transmit the request form online. You should receive your statement within 3-4 weeks.)
