STATE CHECKLIST

Annotated Checklist of the Flora of Minnesota

Anita F. Cholewa, copyright January 2007

The following is a comprehensive, annotated list of the vascular plants known to occur naturally (i.e., natives, naturalized, and adventives) in Minnesota. Pteridophytes (ferns and allies) are listed first, followed by gymnosperms then angiosperms. Information on poisonous plants are based on Foster & Duke, 1990, "A Field Guide to Medicinal Plants"; Kingsbury, 1964, "Poisonous Plants of the United States and Canada"; www.ansci.cornell.edu/plants/index.html; and www.vet.purdue.edu/depts/addl/toxic/bytox1.htm and other sources.
