Higher Education Multicultural Scholars Programs—Special Experiential Learning Grants

CSREES solicits applications for Higher Education Multicultural Scholars Grants Program—Special Experiential Learning Grants (SEL) to fund competitive supplemental grants that support 1- or 2-year experiential learning activities for current USDA Multicultural Scholars.

The purpose of this program is to further the development of student scientific and professional competencies through experiential learning programs that provide students with opportunities to solve complex problems in the context of real-world situations.  The application for SEL funding is currently solicited ONLY within the Higher Education Multicultural Scholars Program (MSP).

SEL eligibility is limited to colleges and universities that (1) are current Higher Education Multicultural Scholars grantees and (2) support a USDA Multicultural Scholar who has at least 1 year remaining in his/her grant program. Only current USDA Multicultural Scholars who have sufficient time remaining in their grant periods to complete proposed experiential learning activities will be considered eligible to receive SEL funds. Before proposed experiential learning activities can commence, Scholars must have completed 1 academic year of full-time study, as defined by their institution, under the Multicultural Scholars’ appointment. Additional eligibility is as published within the current Request for Applications for the Higher Education MSP.
