General Submission
Guidelines
The National Weather Service in Huntsville is seeking pictures
from our residents, customers, and partners. We are looking
for pictures that capture the varied weather of the Tennessee
Valley--as discovered by you!
Some examples of what we are looking for are images of lightning,
flooding, winter weather, interesting cloud formations, sunsets,
and severe weather or damage photos. We are always interested
in photos from special or significant weather events, especially
the floods of 1963, 1973, 1990, February and May 2003, and
the Aldridge Creek flooding.
Please note that photos are featured one or two at
a time, so it may be some time before a submitted image is
used. In addition, we may find other uses for the
images in the future -- and we'll give you credit if we do!
Because this is a government web site,
images submitted to us become part of the public domain.
Images should be amateur photography as copyright privileges
do not exist.
What to Do &
Where to Send
- Please shrink your digital photo as much as possible
(preferably under 2 megabytes in size), while maintaining
the quality of the image. Our electronic mailbox
can only hold so many large images, and many pictures that
we use as the "Featured Photo" will be scaled
down significantly.
- E-Mail your digital photograph to sr-hun.webmaster@noaa.gov
. Include in the body of the e-mail the location,
date (if known), and your name
(if you want to be credited).
