The Office of Global Affairs web site provides a gateway for exploring the global dimensions of the UW, linking students, faculty and visitors to a wide array of exciting opportunities, experiences and knowledge.


UW ranked 16th among 500 schools around the world

China's Shanghai Jiao Tong University released its sixth annual ranking of universities around the world August 15. Institutions were ranked by several indicators of academic and research performance including alumni and faculty winning Nobel prizes, highly cited researchers and articles published in Nature and Science.

"2007 Best of Puget Sound"

Sutapa Basu, executive director UW Women's Center's "Making Connections" program, and Debra Glassman, faculty director of the Global Business Center at the University of Washington's business school, are recognized in the Seattle Times 2007 "Best of" awards. This is a testament to the fact that Basu and Glassman have been instrumental in creating global opportunities and global connections, where none may have existed before.
