Kevin Curtin became the TARGET Center Director in April, 2007. He oversees
the daily operations of the Center and focuses on educating the USDA
community about the various services that TARGET offers. He speaks
to groups about assistive technology, accessibility, Section 508, disability
etiquette, ergonomics and other issues affecting persons with disabilities.
Kevin believes that TARGET can partner with the entire USDA community
in promoting an accessible workplace and computing environment.
Kevin comes to TARGET with an extensive background in issues affecting
the employment of persons with disabilities and assistive technology.
He has focused on the employment issues in the Federal sector for many
years. His experience in this area has resulted in his being invited
to speak at many agencies and conferences on best practices for recruiting,
hiring, retention, and promotion of persons with disabilities. Prior
to joining TARGET Kevin served as the Disability Program Manager at the
U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). In this role he focused on the recruitment
and retention of persons with disabilities. While at DOL Kevin
also established and managed the DOL Accessibility Center and Section
508 Laboratory and oversaw the interpreting services office. Prior to
joining DOL he worked as the Staff Interpreter/Disability Program Manager
at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) for six years. Kevin
previously taught middle school math and science.

Program Manager, Interpreting Services

Susie Prior has been the Program Manager of the Interpreting Services
Office with the U.S. Department of Agriculture since its inception
in 1992. She holds a BME degree in Education and a Comprehensive Skills
Certification with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. Ms. Prior
taught sign language in a community college for several years prior
to coming to the Department of Agriculture. Her interpreting experience
includes almost thirty years of free-lancing in the Washington metropolitan
area and throughout the country and abroad. She has interpreted a wide
variety of assignments ranging from Presidents of the United States
to Ms. Prior teaches sign language to USDA employees, interprets and
manages the program which includes utilizing many contract interpreters
to meet the growing needs of deaf employees in the Department.

Lynette Spriggs began her USDA career on October 18, 1987, working her
way up through various assignments in the Mail Reproduction Management
Division. She joined the Interpreting Services Office staff on May
10, 1997 as Assistant to the Program Manager. Ms. Spriggs handles a
large volume of requests for interpreting services and is the primary
liaison with outside sign language referral agencies for filling the
requests for interpreters.

USDA NTS: nfrohman
Nancy Frohman joined the USDA Interpreting Services Office staff on November 15, 2004. Nancy specializes in requesting and scheduling sign language interpreters for all Deaf employees at USDA who need those services for meetings and training sessions. Before joining USDA, Nancy was a graphic and web designer in the Metro DC area and Southern California. Nancy has extensive experiences in the deaf community as a counselor at a deaf camp, a mentor and Residents Assistant for the “Explore Your Future” program at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf and teacher’s aide at a speech school. Nancy was a sign language instructor and also an interpreter for a legally blind student in her American Sign Language classes. Nancy taught the Computer Business Technology courses to the deaf adults. Nancy has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Technology Analyst

Annette Paz joined the USDA TARGET Center team in August, 2006. As the
Assistive Technology Specialist, her major responsibilities include performing
needs assessment focusing on assistive technology. She will be
supporting all other TARGET services, including Section 508 training,
ergonomics, outreach coordination and installation of assistive technology
software.
Ms. Paz received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. She
attended classes in Scottsdale and Glendale while living in Arizona emphasizing
on education with assistive technology. Ms. Paz has extensive
experience in assistive technology; she was the Lead Assistive Technology
Instructor for over six years at the Foundation for Blind Children, Phoenix,
Arizona. Ms. Paz has attended national as well as local disability conferences
and presented at training workshops on ergonomic fundamentals as well
as simplified training seminars for persons with cognitive disabilities.

Stephanie Bradley began working at TARGET in March, 2007. She left Johns
Hopkins Rehabilitation Program where she was employed for 6 years as
a Rehabilitation Therapist. While working at Johns Hopkins, she developed
an employment readiness training program to assist individuals with disabilities
to further employment readiness skills. Stephanie holds a Bachelor of
Science degree from University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Rehabilitation,
and is planning to obtain a masters degree in Occupational Therapy. Stephanie
has been a long advocate for individuals with disabilities, and is actively
pursuing her credentials in Assistive Technology and Ergonomics. Stephanie
has worked for the government for many years within the Army Educational
Services, and within the public school system as a Special Education
teacher.

Paul Lloyd began doing communications work at the TARGET Center in September,
2001. Paul has acted as the public relations, marketing, and advertising
arms of the TARGET Center, working to balance creating a recognizable ‘brand’ for
the TARGET Center while catering to the non-profit culture as well as
the disability arena. Paul is responsible for TARGET’s training
and outreach programs, as well as ensuring that TARGET customers receive
the level of service they deserve.
Paul received a Bachelor of Arts in the Advertising and Marketing from
University of Maryland in 1999 and a Master’s of
Business of Administration from The George Washington University in 2007.
