Dear Colleagues,
In 2007 we knew of maybe nine genes that contribute to lupus. Now, a year later there are at least 25! The larger collection of case material and the revolutionary new genetic technologies are responsible for this extraordinary progress. All of these new results provide an important foundation from which to reorganize our understanding of lupus.

The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) is pleased to be standing on the forefront of lupus research by presenting the 2008 Lupus Genetics Conference, October 10-14, 2008 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Professionals from academia and industry are invited to discuss the latest progress in lupus genetics.

It is my hope that you will take advantage of this outstanding opportunity and make plans today to join us for the 2008 Lupus Genetics Conference.

Sincerely,
John B. Harley, M.D., Ph.D.
Arthritis and Immunology Research Program Member and Chair
