Stakeholder Meeting on Draft Ergonomics Guidelines for Retail
Grocery Stores Rescheduled for Oct. 2
Poultry Processing Stakeholder Meeting to be Rescheduled

WASHINGTON -- The public stakeholder meeting to discuss OSHA's draft ergonomics guidelines for retail grocery stores has been rescheduled for Thurs. Oct 2. The original Sept. 18 meeting was cancelled due to Hurricane Isabel.

The Retail Grocery Stores meeting will be held from 8:30-12:30 p.m. at the Washington Court Hotel, 525 New Jersey Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. 20001.

The Poultry Processing stakeholder meeting, originally scheduled for Oct. 2, will be rescheduled at a date and location to be announced.

The draft guidelines are intended to provide practical solutions for reducing ergonomic-related injuries in retail grocery stores and the poultry processing industry. They are advisory in nature and informational in content, and do not create any new duties. They will not be used for enforcement purposes. OSHA is also working on guidelines for the shipyard industry, and will make drafts available for comment, as well.
