Signing Ceremony Scheduled for Tues., Feb. 1, in West Palm Beach FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Reducing construction worker injuries, illnesses and fatalities is the goal of a partnership between the U.S. Labor Department's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Florida East Coast Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). The signing ceremony is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Feb. 1, at the Weitz Company facility. "This partnership extends the voluntary cooperative relationship between OSHA and the AGC to eliminate serious hazards," said Luis Santiago, OSHA's Ft. Lauderdale area director. "Working together strengthens the goal of industry and government to protect workers." Santiago and Les Grove, OSHA's Tampa area director, will sign the agreement for OSHA. President Gary Hennings, Michelle Anaya, acting director and Frank Knapfel, safety director will sign for the AGC.
