Supervisory Control

Supervisory control refers to equipment that allows for remote control of a substation's functions from a system control center or other point of control. Supervisory control can be used to:
  • operate circuit breakers,
  • operate tap changers on power transformers,
  • supervise the position and condition of equipment, and
  • telemeter the quantity of energy in a circuit or in substation equipment.
