The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is a multilateral financial institution, established in 1966 to improve the living standards of its developing member countries throughout the region.  Markets that tend to dominate the news in Asia, China and India, are among the largest borrowers from the ADB, generating a steady stream of procurement, engineering design and project management and consulting services opportunities.  Other top beneficiaries of ADB-funded growth include Pakistan, Indonesia and Vietnam, among more than 30 additional developing countries in the Asian-Pacific region.  Since the ADB’s founding, the U.S. cumulative share of procurement exceeds U.S.$5.74 billion – U.S.$4.86 billion for goods/civil works and related services and U.S.$885 million for consulting services.  Historically, U.S. firms have had a strong track record at the bank.

This seminar is designed for U.S. suppliers and consultants to learn how to bid successfully on consulting and infrastructure projects funded by the Asian Development Bank.  ADB recently made several revisions in their bidding guidelines for consulting services and procurement of goods and related services.  The goal of this seminar is to prepare U.S. firms, as well as individual consultants, so that their competitive edge is maintained, and to identify and avoid common errors that can upset otherwise competitive proposals.

Relevant points of discussion will include the following:  The Project Cycle, ADB’s Procurement System, Preparation of Responsive Bids, Bid Evaluation, Disbursement Procedures, Redress Procedures, Business Potential, Short-listing Procedures, DACON/DICON systems, Expressions of Interest, Preparation of Technical Proposal, Preparation of Financial Proposal, ADB’s Technical Assistance Operations, Contract Negotiation/Administration, and Redress Procedures.

If you participate, no procurement and consulting services questions will remain unanswered.

We hope to see you there.
