SOUTH LAFAYETTE TORNADO
JANUARY 25th, 2004

Just before 7 AM on the morning of January 25th, a tornado touched down in southern Lafayette Parish between the city of Lafayette and the nearby town of Maurice.  The tornado, later rated as an F2, first struck along Bourque Road, flipping a mobile home which trapped and injured (one moderately) 3 people.  The storm then crossed Highway 167, damaging several homes and businesses, before tearing the roof off a home on Constitution Drive.  Below are pictures from the event (click for a larger image).
