OSHA Small Business Outreach Seminars on Developing an Effective Safety & Health Management System To Be Offered In January At Six Upstate New York Locations BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Helping small Upstate New York employers develop an organized, effective safety and health management system as well as effective safety programs are the goals of seminars being offered by the Buffalo office of the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in conjunction with area organizations and colleges. The same seminar -- Help!!! I Need to Put Together a Safety Program!!! -- is being offered at six different locations during January as follows:
"If there is a 'must attend', seminar, this is the one," said Art Dube, OSHA's Buffalo area director. "Employers need to be proactive when it comes to safety and health. This seminar, which is being presented by Lawrence "Chip" Dawson, a nationally renown safety and health consultant, will focus on how employers, particularly small employers who wear many hats in an organization and who don't have a tremendous amount of internal resources or time, can develop, institute and manage effective safety and health programs in their workplaces." The session is part of the OSHA Small Business Seminar Series covering a variety of topics that the federal agency will offer this year to assist small Upstate New York employers in complying with workplace safety and health standards. To register for one of the January seminars, or to obtain more information, contact Gordon DeLeys at the Buffalo OSHA Area Office at 716-684-3891 extension 244.
