Subject: special supplement to the American Journal of Preventive Medicine
sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI)

Dear Colleagues: We are pleased to announce the publication of a special supplement to the American Journal of Preventive Medicine sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) titled, 'The Science of Team Science: Assessing the Value of Transdisciplinary Research <http://dccps.nci.nih.gov/brp/scienceteam/ajpm.html> '. This supplement addresses new and exciting developments in the emerging science of team science-a field of evaluation research concerned especially with understanding and enhancing the outcomes of collaborative research and training programs. The articles contained in the supplement are written by thought leaders in the science of team science and are drawn from the proceedings of the NCI's conference on the Science of Team Science held in Bethesda Maryland during October, 2006. We hope you will find this a stimulating and informative resource for understanding the myriad factors involved in studying and understanding the processes and outcomes of team science. If you already subscribe to the American Journal of Preventive Medicine you will automatically receive a copy of the supplement. You may also download an electronic copy or order a hard copy online: (http://dccps.nci.nih.gov/brp/scienceteam/ajpm.html). Sincerely, The Guest Editors: Daniel Stokols, Kara L. Hall, Brandie K. Taylor, Richard P. Moser, and S.
