Our nation is searching for solutions to build energy self sufficiency, strengthen national security, revitalize rural economies and protect the environment. America's farmers, ranchers and private forest land owners are taking up the challenge by advancing an ambitious, yet achievable, initiative that addresses each of these concerns. Their vision: that by the year 2025, America's working lands will provide 25 percent of the nation's energy from renewable resources. The 2nd National Ag/Forestry Renewable Energy Summit sets the launch of the initiative to national prominence. The meeting will lay out the national vision, demonstrate the achievability of the vision through economic, technical and political inputs, and show how the vision can advance through roll out of an implementation plan.
