King County Animal Care and Control - Field Services

Animal Control field servicesEach day, field officers and a sergeant patrol this service area of over 2,200 square miles across King County, serving more than 1.2 million residents. Officers assist the public from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, with emergency services provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week by on-call officers.

King County Animal Care and Control's service area includes all unincorporated areas of King County and contracting cities. For service, please call 206-296-PETS.

Animal Control field officers respond to the following requests:

  • patrol requests
  • trespassing cats and dogs
  • stray dogs and cats, pick up.
  • owner release dogs and cats (if unlicensed, a fee will apply)
  • animal pick-ups
  • vicious animal complaints
  • cruelty investigations
  • animal bites
  • barking dog complaints & petitions
  • injured animal rescues
  • "Dead-on-arrival" livestock/cats/dogs
  • police department calls for assistance
  • leash law violations
  • loose livestock on roadways
