Surveillance Report
The HIV/AIDS Surveillance
Report contains tabular and graphic
information about U.S. AIDS and HIV case
reports, including data by state,
metropolitan statistical area, mode of
exposure to HIV, sex, race/ethnicity, age
group, vital status, and case definition
category. It is published annually
by the Division of HIV/AIDS
Prevention, National Center for HIV, STD,
and TB Prevention, Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC), usually in the
early fall. The mid-year edition was
discontinued after the 2001 reporting year.

Supplemental Reports
HIV/AIDS Surveillance
Supplemental Reports are based on data from
CDC’s HIV/AIDS Reporting System (HARS) and
are issued intermittently. HARS is a
collection of computer programs and data
files developed by the Division of HIV/AIDS
Prevention at the CDC that simplifies the
management and analysis of HIV and AIDS
surveillance data.
