Active Living by Design is a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and is a part of the North Carolina Institute for Public Health at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This program establishes innovative approaches to increase physical activity and healthy eating through community design, public policies and communications strategies.

Active Living by Design is working with 25 community partnerships across the country to demonstrate how changing community design will impact physical activity
