Biography:

Anita J. La Salle holds an appointment as Program Director in CNS on a part-time basis. She was previously a Program Director in the Division for Undergraduate Education (1987-1988) and later served on a part-time basis as a consultant to the Directorate for Education and Human Resources (1988-1998) and the Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (2000-2005).

Anita is Professor Emeritus from American University (AU) in Washington, DC. Prior to joining NSF and AU Anita had a career in industry and was a faculty member at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). Anita earned her BS and MS degrees from NJIT and her Ph.D. from Stevens Institute of Technology. Her research interests include Software Engineering and Software Process Improvement, Project Risk Assessment, and Software Quality Assessment. She is a member of the ACM, IEEE, and AIS.
