A Look at Utah’s Fast Growing and Changing Population

- U.S. Census Bureau Deputy Director Preston Jay Waite and Gov. Jon Huntsman
will hold a news conference to discuss the changing characteristics of Utah’s
rapidly growing and changing population — which ranks as the sixth fastest

Presentations will highlight the latest demographic, social, economic and housing characteristics from the American Community Survey, and how important decisions at the state and local levels are being made to address public policy issues. Data from the Census Bureau helps determine where approximately $200 billion in federal funds are distributed back to state and local governments each year, such as where to build new schools, roads or day-care centers.
