of programs and outreach efforts.
Lesson Plan Contest for Educators
This contest challenges sixth- through twelfth-grade educators and preservice educators to submit a lesson plan featuring Fed publications, Web sites, or multimedia materials. Win up to $2,500 in savings bonds.

Tours and Speakers Bureau
In Atlanta, we offer guided tours of our Visitors Center and Monetary Museum
to prescheduled groups. On a limited basis, branch offices also offer tours
to selected groups. And we operate speakers bureaus to provide knowledgeable
Fed speakers, based on availability, to educational, civic, and financial organizations.

Teacher Workshops
We conduct teacher workshops in Atlanta and select branch offices throughout
the year, helping teachers gain a deeper understanding of the Federal Reserve
System's role in the economy so they can better teach their

Education Resources
Extra Credit, an online economic and financial education newsletter,
is designed for classroom teachers in middle and high school. Published twice
a year, Extra Credit provides informative articles, lesson plans and
activities, teaching tips, and a calendar of teacher workshops and events sponsored
by the Atlanta Fed or its education partners. To receive e-mail notification
when new issues of Extra Credit are posted online, please fill out
the form.
Katrina's Classroom: Financial Lessons from a Hurricane is a free DVD-based curriculum designed to teach middle school and high school students and their parents the importance of being financially prepared. The curriculum focuses on financial responsibilities such as budgeting, banking, savings, and wise use of credit. The videos, an English/Spanish transcript, and lesson plans can be downloaded or ordered as a DVD/CD set.

with schools in adopt-a-school programs and with other organizations such as
Junior Achievement and the National
Council on Economic Education, we support established programs that help
students learn about the Federal Reserve System and the economy.
