Higher Education
Congresswoman Matsui is committed to making sure that high school graduates have access to an affordable college education. It is timely and prudent for the federal government put contingency plans in place to ensure that students and families have continued access to federal loans. In order to cultivate a well-trained, competitive workforce that is capable of keeping abreast of the dynamic global market, the dream of a college education must be within the reach of every qualified student.

K-12 Education
As the competition gets more and more heated for students to get into colleges and universities, it is imperative that the early education years provide students with the tools they need to reach their maximum potential. Providing for increased education in the science, technology, engineering, and math fields will keep Sacramento's youth on the cutting edge of education. At the same time, Congresswoman Matsui is a strong believer in well-rounded education opportunities, including music, the arts, and literature. She is an active member of the STEM Caucus in Congress, and witnesses firsthand the power of the arts as one of three House Members to sit on the Smithsonian Institution's Board of Regents. |
