In 2008, the Census Bureau will release the first set of multiyear estimates for the nation. These 3-year estimates will be based on data collected from 2005 - 2007 and will include geographic areas with populations of 20,000 or more. In 2010, 5-year estimates will be released based on data collected from 2005 - 2009 and will include the smallest of geographic areas - down to the tract and block group levels. To get a preview of multiyear estimates and to begin to understand their characteristics, check out the Multiyear Estimates Study.

A Federal Register notice published in late Summer 2007 will propose milestone dates and descriptions for the 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year products to be released in 2008 through 2012. Click here (pdf) to find out more.
