The National Weather Service's NOAA Weather Radio network is expanding across South Texas. Transmitter sites are located in Victoria, Port O'Connor, Corpus Christi, Riviera, Laredo, Three Rivers and Dilley. A new site is in the works for the Rio Grande Plains near Hebbronville but the details are still being ironed out. This new site will provide critical severe weather warning coverage to areas that have never had coverage before.

To take advantage of NOAA Weather Radio, you will need to purchase a special NOAA Weather Radio receiver. These can be purchased at your local electronics store or online (residential vendors). NOAA Weather Radio receivers are like smoke detectors for weather. When you and your family are asleep at night, and the National Weather Service issues a severe weather warning, your NOAA Weather Radio receiver will sound an alarm, so you and your family can get to safety.

You can report an NWR transmitter problem here.
