DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES SEEKS PUBLIC'S HELP IN LOCATING MISSING CHILDREN
Citing the need to return missing children to safe and loving homes, the Department of Human Services (DHS) is asking anyone with information about the whereabouts of these children to call their local police departments.
"This information can protect children and ultimately save lives," DHS Director Lillian Koller said. "We are doing this now as a follow-up to our July 2005 release of names and photos of missing children because we want to involve families, friends, the media and the entire community in a collaborative way to help us find these children."
The public is asked to check this Web site periodically for updates to the list of missing children.
This DHS Web site and publishing photos through the media are examples of the multiple efforts being made on an on-going basis, including but not limited to contacting the police, calling last known caretaker and service providers, checking last known hang-outs and talking with family members, to help locate these missing children.
